I completed my academic internship at the Navarro de Paiva Educational Center, where I provided psychological support and assessment for adolescents. Later, I continued working with the same age group at a Dutch institution in the context of Residential Care. I also worked with the Escolhas Project, where the intervention focused on children and young people from the Vale de Alcântara neighborhoods. Later, I returned to Residential Care at Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa, where I held a coordination role in a Residential Home for young boys.
My interest in developing new projects led me, alongside my colleagues, to found APIPC – Portuguese Association for Clinical Psychology Intervention. At APIPC, I have invested in clinical practice, particularly in psychological support for young people and adults, as well as clinical supervision, since its inception. I believe that continuous learning is essential, which is why I am a Candidate Member of SPPC – Portuguese Society of Clinical Psychology, currently undertaking Specialized Training in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy.
The psychotherapeutic process offers us the possibility of reflecting on ourselves, and I believe that it is through this process that we understand ourselves, accept ourselves, and give meaning to what belongs to us and to our relationships. I consider the relationship established between client and therapist to be the most important tool in this process. It is this relationship that creates a safe space where, together, we can think about everything that makes sense for the client. I firmly believe that through the experience of the therapeutic process, transformations can allow the client to live life and relationships in a healthier, freer, and more authentic way.
